Want to Submit a Game to Genius Games?
Do you think you have the next great game? We’d love to hear from and work with you! If you are interested in submitting your game creation to Genius Games, please consider the following:
Education: Here at Genius Games, we are focused on creating educational games with a slant toward the world of science. That’s not to say we wouldn’t consider developing games that fall into other categories, but know that our brand is built on and geared toward education.
Tangibility: Most gamers have ideas for games. We are looking for the creators out there, who have gone the extra mile to write up rules and create something complete, physical, tested, and playable.
Clarity: Speaking of rules, we (and any players) need to be able to figure out how to play the game from start to finish simply by reading the rules. Electronically submitting a rules document would be the first step to working together, so polish that doc until it shines!
Vision: A huge part of games development is conceptualizing and creating the look and feel of games. If we request a prototype, sensible and thematic placeholder art would be expected. Ultimately, Genius Games would be in charge of final art direction and is one of the major expenses that we will incur. This would be a collaboration, however, and your initial designs and ongoing input would help to heavily sway the game’s visualization.
Collaboration: Just like the art of the game, the design and mechanics must be open to change. We as a company must make our games as marketable as possible, which sometimes means tweaking things. Again, the process would be collaborative, so if you are unwilling to consider any changes at all, then your game may not be a good fit for us.
Kickstarter: There is a high chance that we will launch the first version of all of our games on Kickstarter. If you’re not okay with that, please let us know up front.
Why Should You Choose Us?
We at Genius Games are committed to delivering the best educational game experiences possible. We believe that learning can and should be fun, and that people can more easily understand traditionally challenging concepts through game play. It goes without saying that we love games, and are passionate about the games we produce. As a small company, we tend to devote our full focus to one fleshed-out game concept at a time. So, if we like your game, you’d have our undivided attention. We have experience and success with Kickstarter, and our project backers represent one segment of our existing, growing audience, who are eager for more releases by Genius Games. Let us publish your game – we’ll make a great team!
If you have a game that you think would be a good fit, please feel free to send the rules to
firstname.lastname@example.org. If we really like what we see, we’ll request a prototype (you can make the prototype or have a service like The Game Crafter or Print and Play Games make it) and go from there.
All submissions are welcome, but we are strongly interested in Physics and Astronomy game ideas at this time.
